Looking up river from the reedbed at the Sharpham estate on the banks of the river Dart on an early spring day in March. The changing light and the movement of the reeds in the wind is captivating, an enormous sense of space and time embraces the viewer. There are sounds of nature, of birds and and the water as the tide begins to turn.
This mixed media drawing uses charcoal and pastels on a Daler Rowney paper. It was an absorbing drawing to make as it is based on very many visits to this very special place.
