Having visited the Dalmatian coast for the first time I was transfixed by the beautiful waters. I am making a body of work based on my visit and will be adding more. I shall be printing and doing more mixed drawing and paintings to provide a sense of place. On this piece I thoroughly enjoyed working in layers of texture, adding gesso and fixing in layers. This was the first time that I used iron dust with the layers of gesso. I think some of these may work well when hung together.

Swirling hues of teal, emerald, and charcoal blend across the surface, creating an entrancing pattern of layered textures. The organic, fluid movement within the composition inspires a feeling of motion and dimension, challenging viewers to discover new intricacies upon each gaze. Irregular, fragmented lines weave through the piece, subverting traditional expectations of structure and form. As one explores the nuanced variation of colours and textures, a cohesive arrangement reveals itself, reminding us of the inherent complexity and beauty of nature. This abstract creation encapsulates an exploration through unseen aspects, bridging the gap between the tangible and the imagined.
